Windows XP Lives On
April 7th, 2009 by ComputerBob
More than 110 years ago, Mark Twain was said to have written the often-quoted phrase, “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated,” though there is evidence that what he actually wrote was “… the report of my death was an exaggeration.”
Twain was obviously a very clever (and very quotable) fellow.
Similarly, Windows XP has turned out to be a very clever (and very popular) operating system, and there have been many reports of its death since Windows Vista “replaced it” more than two years ago.
Yet Windows XP lives on, and may continue to live on, even after Windows 7 is released.
That’s good news for Windows users, which — as we’ve learned from past experience — makes it bad news for Microsoft.
