Windows 7 Security Flaw
February 4th, 2009 by ComputerBob
I think I’m safe in saying that most Windows users have a lot of experience with security threats to their computers.
And many of them are familiar with the need for all Windows users to find, download and constantly run a whole barrel of mostly third-party security applications that include antivirus, anti-rootkit, anti-adware and others, to try to prevent their insecure-out-of-the-box PCs from being attacked or taken over by unwanted intruders.
But how many Windows users know that Microsoft sometimes makes choices that intentionally cause security risks for Windows users?
One guy has discovered a serious security vulnerability in the Windows 7 beta.
One that could be easily fixed, by changing one simple default setting in its security configuration.
So he brought the problem to Microsoft’s attention.
And they responded, telling him that the security vulnerability is “by design.”
