Why Would Anyone Choose Windows?
September 6th, 2008 by ComputerBob
Regular readers of this Journal know that I started using computers in 1980, but after using every version of DOS from the very first one, and after being a Windows guru for more than a decade, I was very happy to begin using Linux full-time instead of Windows in July of 2006.
Since Windows comes pre-installed on nearly every new PC, many PC users may not even realize that they can use an operating system other than Windows on their PC. Of course, I understand that many (most?) PC users are completely entrenched in using Windows, so they may not even want to consider using a free and open-source alternative to Windows.
That’s their choice, and that’s fine with me. I’m just the messenger.
But those who are curious can find a quick (though somewhat simplistic) Windows/Linux comparision in Why would anyone choose Windows over Linux?
