What Are The Odds?
May 8th, 2010 by ComputerBob
Many years ago, a sign on one of my coworkers’ cubicle walls said, “Lord, please allow me to prove to you that winning the lottery won’t change me.”
I’ve never bought a lottery ticket because I fully believe the old adage: “A lottery is a tax in people who are bad at math.”
The odds against winning a lottery are astronomical.
And apparently, so are the odds against lottery winners becoming financially secure.
Did winning the lottery change those people?
Or were they exactly the same after they won the lottery — and that’s why they all did such stupid things with their winnings?
