Trying To Plug The Oil Spill

In case you hadn’t heard, oil workers have succeeded in lowering a huge concrete-and-steel box into the water and onto the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Right now, they’re waiting for for it to settle into place.
If all goes according to plan, they hope to connect a hose to the box, and then start pumping the spilling oil up into a an oil tanker.
It’s not a fool-proof plan, however. They’ve never attempted this type of fix before, and the near-freezing temperature at the bottom of the ocean is going to add to the risk.
I sure hope it works.
Update: It didn’t work.
