Tropical Storm Fay
August 18th, 2008 by ComputerBob
Currently, we’re under a Hurricane Watch, which means that a hurricane is possible for our area within 36 hours. Tropical Storm Fay has just headed back out into the warm waters, having crossed the island of Cuba during the night. It’s expected to resume building strength as it heads toward us.
At this point, nobody knows for sure if Fay is going to strengthen to be a hurricane or not. But based on the current warning cone, it’s definitely going to affect us, no matter what type of storm it turns out to be.
This morning, I’m going to install our hurricane shutters. That way we’ll be prepared before the first bands of heavy rain arrive, no matter what happens with Fay. And that will free me up to be available to help other people in case my neighbors all board up their homes later today.
