To Serve You Better 4
August 5th, 2008 by ComputerBob
You are now viewing this web site running on a much more reliable server than the one that it was previously on.
After several unplanned server downtimes this past week (that were caused by things beyond the control of my web host), my web host offered to move my sites to a brand new server that currently has 100% uptime. I chose not to have them do that, because that server has only been in service for about a month, so even though it hasn’t had any downtime yet, it also hasn’t developed a history of reliability yet.
That’s why I asked my web host to move my sites to this particular server. It has had 99.997% uptime for the past 12 months, as reported by a third-party site-monitoriing service. That’s a total of only 15 minutes of downtime in the past year!
