The Mystery Of The Yellow Line

Last night, many of my coworkers watched a nationally televised football game in which the Florida Gators played the Oklahoma Sooners for the BCS national title.
Can you guess which team most of my coworkers were rooting for?
I don’t follow sports teams at all, so I don’t know what “BCS” stands for. In fact, I didn’t even know that last night’s game was going to be played until a couple of days ago, when several people were talking about it aroiund the lunch table.
Call me a geek if you want to, but I’m a lot more interested in how broadcasters create the yellow first-down line.
