Wow, it’s kind of hard to believe that it’s been almost ten years since I first wrote How To Stop Email Hoaxes, in response to the hundreds of hoaxes that well-meaning friends and coworkers used to send me each month.
I still occasionally receive an email hoax or two, but usually only from new computer users who think they’re doing me a favor.
Unfortunately, while the problem of email hoaxes has greatly improved over the past decade, the problem of email scams has gotten much, much worse.
And unlike email hoaxes, people who fall for email scams can have their identities stolen and lose big chunks of their life savings.
