A Bright Idea To Make It Rain

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

Where I live, here in the Sunshine State, this summer’s weather has been great — for plants.

And for people who don’t mind changing their clothes at least a couple times each day.

It seems like we’ve had alternating sunlight and heavy thunderstorms every day for the past couple of months. [more...]

Ten Best Places To Live In The U.S.?

Monday, August 8th, 2011

My wife and I have lived in the Sunshine State for the past 7 1/2 years.

We love our home and our neighbors.

And even though there are times when it is stiflingly hot and humid, our area has only gotten down to freezing on three or four nights — for only an hour or two each time — since we’ve lived here. [more...]

Snowpocalypse!

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

This morning, I had a humorous email exchange with one of my oldest friends.

It Could’ve Been Worse

Monday, January 17th, 2011

I love the weather in the Sunshine State.

Except for the middle of winter, almost every day of the year is warm, with deep blue skies, white, puffy clouds and plenty of sunshine.

But you have to take [more...]

An Extremely Moving Experience

Friday, October 8th, 2010

On December 21, 2003, my wife and two of our neighbors and I packed our rented moving truck about one-half full and connected a dolly behind it to tow our second car. Then, the next morning, my wife, our pets and I — with me driving the truck that pulled our second car, and my wife following behind in our other car — began our 1600+ mile move from the Frostbite State to the Sunshine State. My wife followed behind me so that we could work together to maneuver the [more...]

Impressive Sand Sculptures 2

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

In addition to plenty of lightning, the Sunshine State also has plenty of sand.

In fact, we don’t have any of the black dirt that northerners are used to seeing in the ground.

Our “dirt” is sand. With [more...]
