A couple of months ago, I ordered a new Western Digital 500GB SATA hard drive from Walmart.com.
I was planning to reinstall Debian Linux on it from scratch, using ext4 partitions, while still keeping my older SATA hard drive, so that I could boot it up and use it until my new Linux setup was completely configured and ready to hit the ground running.

Regular readers of this Journal know that I became a full-time Linux user (instead of Windows) on my home-office computers back in July of 2006.
In the past 5 years, my Linux computers have all been completely virus, spyware and malware-free, despite the tact that none of them run any antivirus, malware, spyware or firewall software.

I had planned for the Verizon phone technician to arrive at his scheduled appointment this morning, between 8:00 AM and noon.
But, a couple of days ago, I got a long distance phone call from someone at Verizon, telling me that they had to reschedule my repair appointment for this afternoon, between noon and 4:00 PM.

If you’ve been following this story, then you know that my Verizon DSL Internet connection has been dead since last Monday night’s thunderstorm.
And you know that, on Tuesday morning, I contacted Eleanor in Verizon’s Customer Escalations Department, and made an appointment to have a Verizon technician come to my home on Friday (my day off) to fix the problem — again.

Today is my day off, but instead of sleeping in late, I took Max to the vet to get his teeth cleaned.

Yesterday, I finally tried out my roller skates for the first time since I moved their wheels forward another 3/16ths of an inch.
