Strong Passwords
August 6th, 2009 by ComputerBob
Regular readers of this Journal know that I avoid trusting my private confidential data to free online service providers. In fact, I’ve mentioned that fact many times in the past, including as recently as yesterday.
But it’s important to remember something that many computer users don’t realize: The biggest threat to any computer system’s security is the behavior of that system’s user(s).
Two of the worst things that users can do to jeapordize their computer security are:
- Choose passwords that are easy to guess
- Leave their passwords out where others can find them
Fortunately, both of those security risks are relatively easy to fix.
And — especially if you’re using online services like Gmail — you better fix them right away.
