Stone-Age DVDs
November 13th, 2009 by ComputerBob
There’s a new type of DVD that holds the standard amount of data (4.7 GB).
It’s the same standard DVD size.
And you can use it in normal DVD burners, players and software.
So what’s so special about it?
Well for one thing, it isn’t affected much by heat or ultraviolet rays.
That’s because it’s made of synthetic stone.
But what’s even more impressive is that its makers claim it will last for 1,000 years.
So you can rest assured that your 31st-century ancestors will be able to watch your copy of Plan 9 From Outer Space.
If they have a DVD player.
