Still Working Behind The Scenes
August 15th, 2009 by ComputerBob
If you’ve noticed some visual changes here lately, then you’re very observant.
In the past few days, I made several minor changes to this web site’s home page:
Page Header Changes
- Changed the Windows logo to a photo of an Apple II computer
Left Navigation Column Changes
- Made the whole column wider
- Made the text bigger on the navigation buttons
Middle Journal Column Changes
- Made the whole column narrower
- Removed my name from the dateline of each entry, because I write every entry — it still appears on individual Journal post pages
- Removed the “Permalink” line from each Journal entry — it still appears on individual Journal post pages
- Edited the red “welcome” message that appears above the most recent Journal entry
Right Sidebar Changes
- Made the whole column wider
- Made most of its text bigger
- Decreased the maximum size of the most-popular Journal Topics
I also slightly reduced the content column on all of my other web pages, to make room for the slightly wider left navigation column.
I hope that the combination of all of those subtle changes will make this web site easier to look at and easier to use for all of this site’s visitors, whether they use Windows, Linux or a Mac.
Update, Sunday, August 16, 8:30 PM: I just added Mini’s photo to the left navigation column of every page. Clicking on it will take you to ComputerBob’s Pets.
