As modern humans, we love to hear about how gullible our ancestors were when it came to believing things that we know aren’t true. The world is flat. Diseases are caused by evil spirits. Elvis was the greatest entertainer who ever lived. Al Gore is a great humanitarian and altruistic environmentalist.
But honestly, if you had lived way back then, I bet you would’ve believed most of NewScientist’s list of Seven Of The Greatest Scientific Hoaxes.
