Rethinking Automatic Bill Payment

Several years ago, my wife and I signed up with several of our monthly service providers (electric, telephone, long distance, etc.) to allow them to automatically withdraw the proper amounts directly out of our bank accounts.
It’s a lot less trouble than having to write separate checks and send them by snail mail each month.
Unfortunately, automatic bill payment comes with several potential problems. After reading this article, I’m going to reassess whether I want to keep using it or not.
