Rechargeable Paper Batteries
December 13th, 2009 by ComputerBob
Over the years, scientists have developed different types of rechargeable batteries, including lead acid, nickel cadmium (NiCd), lithium Ion (Li-ion) and nickel metal hydride (NiMH) — each with its own combination of advantages and disadvantages.
Here’s the latest one: “Stanford University researchers have demonstrated a way to turn ordinary paper into a battery, which may be crumpled or pressed into any form. It’s said the low-cost technology promises greater durability, higher efficiency, and faster energy transfer than traditional batteries.”
It sounds like it has a whole lot potential and a whole lot of advantages. I wonder what its disadvantages will be.
