Office Depot Shenanigans
March 12th, 2009 by ComputerBob
With the economy tight, consumers have to be extra careful to spend their money wisely.
And extra careful to avoid stores that try to cheat them.
A couple of weeks ago, I warned you that Circuit City was using deceptive pricing to try to trick customers into buying its overpriced merchandise.
Now one writer accuses Office Depot of providing scripts to its cashiers, to help them push overpriced service plans on their customers.
And a separate report alleges that Office Depot cashiers are told to lie to customers who want to buy notebook PCs without service plans.
As you can imagine, Slashdot’s readers have a lot to say about all of that.
Caveat emptor, my friends.
