No Sympathy From Me

June 12th, 2009 by ComputerBob

The U.S. government spent more than $2 billion preparing us all for it.

So, if you ignored the past 18 month’s worth of written, posted, and broadcast publicity about it.

And all of the 30-minute television shows and public service announcements that described it in excrutiating detail, over and over and over.

And all of the screen crawls about it that distractingly crept across the bottom of nearly every show on television for at least the past 12 months.

And the thousands of infuriatingly repetitious local and network news stories that warned us all about it.

And you completely ignored the original deadline for it this past February.

And you didn’t bother to get one of the free, taxpayer-funded digital converter boxes.

Or buy a digital TV set.

Or switch to cable TV.

And you completely ignored the second deadline for it, scheduled for today.

And all you can see on your TV set right now is snow.

Then congratulations! You are one of the millions of U.S. citizens who have achieved the nadir of our nanny government and dumbed-down society:

You aren’t even smart enough to be able to watch TV.
