More Work Behind The Scenes
March 28th, 2010 by ComputerBob
Regular readers of this Journal know that I update it every single day, and I’m constantly looking for ways to improve its usability as well as its look-and-feel.
To that end, this morning, I made the following changes to this site’s home page:
- I removed the right column’s Journal Archive section, which was organized by year, because I don’t think anyone needs to view an entire year’s worth of Journal posts at one time.
- I added several of my readers’ and my favorite Journal posts to the right column’s Featured Journal Posts section.
- I organized the Featured Journal Posts into categories, based on their Journal Tags.
- I added some of my readers’ and my favorite articles to the right column’s Featured Articles section.
- I increased the number of displayed Journal Posts in the center column, from 4 to 6.
I hope that these changes will make it easier for my readers to find whatever they’re looking for, as well as to discover new Journal posts and articles that will interest them.
