Lessons From Our Green Grandparents

When we look around at our modern, ecologically friendly technologies like hybrid cars, reusable shopping bags and high-efficiency light bulbs, we may be tempted to pat ourselves on the back for all of the energy that we save.
But when it comes to “living green,” our lifestyles don’t hold a candle to those of our grandparents. According to Mother Nature Network, “Their carbon footprint was uber-small — they used less water, less fuel, created less waste and imported fewer goods than we do.”
