It Will Probably Be Huge

Many years ago, I read an article in Popular Science magazine that extolled the virtues of a new type of engine.
I don’t remember how it worked, but I was impressed enough to still remember that they said that the new type of engine was so powerful that one of them the size of a normal automobile engine would be strong enough to pull a freight train.
What ever happened to that engine?
Sometimes it seems like there are always a lot of impressive technologies on the horizon, but the most impressive ones never make it to the marketplace.
At least that’s what my wife and I decided last night, while driving around in our flying car.
I wonder if we’ll ever be able to buy this new idea from Panasonic: A battery that will power your whole house for about a week.
As can be expected, Slashdot’s readers have mixed feelings about it.
