Is Firefox 3 A Threat To IE?

It appears that the recently released Firefox 3 browser is being adopted at an astoudingly fast rate, leading at least one author to see it as a possible threat to Microsoft’s domination of the browser field.
But you know what they say about liars and statistics.
Always playing the devil’s advocates, Slashdot’s readers have several other possible explanations for FF3’s apparent popularity.
