I’m Dreaming Of A Wet Christmas

It was six years ago today that my wife, our four pets and I arrived in the Sunshine State to stay.
We were greeted by my wife’s sister and brother-in-law, and sunny, breezy, 75-degree (24 C) weather.
Three days before that, it had been 30 degrees below zero (-34 C) when we had driven away from our house in The Frostbite State for the last time.
Back then, with tongue in cheek, I warned my northern friends that, as a Floridian, I would probably take every opportunity I could to gloat to them about how nice the weather is where I live, compared to where they live.
Well, here’s one of those times.
If you live in one of those bitterly cold places where every branch of every naked tree is coated with freezing rain, and the 40mph arctic blasts are burying your world under several inches of cold, heavy, wet snow, I feel for you.
Because it’s 71 degrees here this morning, under partly sunny skies, with a negligible misting of rain.
