How The City Hurts Your Brain

I was raised in a relatively quiet suburb of a large city. The few times that I was required to venture out into the city itself, I found it very exciting but also very stressful.
It’s been many years since I spent more than a few days in that area, but I’ve been told that, over the past few decades, the city has grown to the point where its traffic and hectic pace of life has nearly engulfed the formerly quiet suburb.
I think that’s kind of sad.
On the other hand, one of my brothers-in-law grew up out in the quiet, peaceful country, but he chooses to live in a busy city, because he loves all of the activity and cultural possibilities.
