Hacked Cable Modems

Several months ago, I started visiting Craigslist. In fact, if you search this site for the word “Craigslist”, you’ll see that I’ve made several excellent local deals through that site.
But one ad that has repeatedly shown up in my local Craigslist “Computers” section has always bothered me.
One individual keeps posting an ad to sell hacked cable modems that enable their owners to get free cable Internet access.
Every time s/he posts that ad, people like me “flag” it for removal, and the Craigslist people have always deleted it within a few hours, but the seller must sell enough of those illegal boxes in the meantime to make it worth the effort to keep reposting an ad for them over and over again.
Although I wonder why it’s taken so long for it to happen, I suspect that that seller may soon be getting a very unwelcome surprise, now that the FBI has started to arrest people who sell hacked cable modems.
