Great Technological Inventions

We all know that we live in an era of astounding technological change.
Many of the technologies that we take for granted every day might have been considered miracles when our parents were young; completely unimaginable when our grandparents were young — and witchcraft when their grandparents were young.
For example, if it weren’t for modern medical technologies and brain surgery techniques, I would have died on June 13, 1978.
And without the benefit of modern cataract surgery on both of her eyes, my wife — who currently has normal eyesight — would have gone completely blind about 13 years ago.
Coming from that frame of reference, if someone were to ask me to compile a list of the greatest technological inventions of the past 25 years — the things that have had the biggest impact on people’s lives — I would probably ignore most of the world’s consumer gadgets and gizmos, and instead put medical technologies at the top of my list.
