Google Not So Private 2

March 30th, 2009 by ComputerBob

Regular readers of this Journal know that I don’t trust free online services with my important and/or confidential data. Instead of putting my data “in the cloud,” I use an email client, a spreadsheet, a word processor and other applications right here on my Linux desktop, and I backup all of my data every day to a separate hard drive.

Over the years, I’ve pointed you to many examples of how people who trust free online services have lost their data, lost access to their data and put their data at risk of being viewed and stolen by identity thieves, competitors and others. You can see several of those examples in the “Related Posts” section under this Journal post.

If you need more evidence, take a look at More Security Loopholes Found In Google Docs.
