Ghosts Of World War II
August 6th, 2010 by ComputerBob
Because color photography wasn’t widely used until the latter part of the last century, every photograph we ever see of World War II and older events is in black and white.
That makes it easy to erroneously imagine that people back then somehow lived their lives in black and white.
And that can cause us to feel “disconnected” from the past, and to think of the people and places in those old black and white photos as ancient history that no longer affects us — instead of people who were probably still alive when we were born, and places that still exist today.
Here are 20 carefully crafted and fascinating photographs that show us how the past is still here with us.
