Futuristic Gadgets

Just about every article of its type starts by reminding readers of a currently valuable technology that didn’t even exist until recently — and then showing some new technologies that may be valuable in the future.
In this case, the article reminds us that, just a few years ago, hardly anyone foresaw the way that flash drives would so quickly and completely replace floppy disk drives in computers.
Then it describes Cool Futuristic/Concept Gadgets That Really Inspire.
But flash drives are hugely popular because they fill an actual need.
I may be wrong, but I don’t see much need for any of those other new gadgets.
So they don’t inspire me. How about you?
