Frightening Car Computer Hacks

Is anyone protecting the security of the computer that controls your car?
As if we don’t already have enough to worry about, with online providers like Google and Facebook constantly finding new ways to collect and exploit our private data to make a profit:
“University researchers have taken a close look at the computer systems used to run today’s cars and discovered new ways to hack into them, sometimes with frightening results.”
