Dilbert Shorts

Any geek who has any “cred” is a fan of Dilbert, the ubergeek.
In the early-to-mid-90s, when I was working as a computer consultant to a huge multinational corporation based in the Frostbite State, every one of my techie friends there — and every one of the computer hotline workers — had Dilbert comics pasted up all over the walls of their cubicles, with their favorite ones adorning the cloth-covered outer walls on either side of their doorways, for passers-by to see.
Then, about ten years ago, Dilbert had a weekly 30-minute TV show. I wanted to like it, but two things about it bothered me:
- I think that Dilbert humor is best in small, concentrated amounts, and doesn’t scale well to 30-minute television stories.
- I didn’t think that some of the character’s voices were a good fit to the characters that I had come to “know” in the printed comics, I was particularly annoyed that they chose Kathy Griffin’s completely undisguised and very recognizable voice, to play the role of Alice.
Today, I was delighted to discover lots and lots of short, hilarious Dilbert clips that automatically display, one-after-another.
Depending on which clip you’re watching, Dilbert is an employee of either Microsoft, Google, a major telecom or the multinational corporation where I used to work.
