Cold Sores Linked To Alzheimer’s

I’m guessing that by now, nearly everyone who is reading this has known or loved at least one person who is suffering from — or who has died from — Alzheimer’s disease. So it goes without saying that most of us are painfully aware of why the family of a former U.S. president and Alzheimer’s sufferer called that heartbreaking disease the long goodbye.
I think we all hope that researchers will figure out the underlying causes of Alzheimer’s soon, and that very quickly after that, they will find a cure — along with preventative measures.
They appear to be on the right track with their recent determination that “The virus behind cold sores is a major cause of the insoluble protein plaques found in the brains of Alzheimer’s disease sufferers.”
