Colbert’s Science Catfight
April 8th, 2010 by ComputerBob
Despite the fact that they’re highly educated and they use hundreds of millions of dollars worth of high-tech equipment, today’s meteorologists have a hard time accurately predicting what the weather will be five days from now.
Yet climatologists, using the same data and equipment, claim that they can predict what the weather will be 10, 20, 50 or even 100 years from now.
In fact, many meteorologists and climatologists hold diametically opposed viewpoints regarding future weather patterns, as well as what causes them.
Considering the billions of dollars of both private and public funding that is spent on both meteorologists and climatologists, as well as the incalculable effects of trillions of dollars of currently proposed social changes that are based on debatable long-term climate predictions, it’s enough to make an intelligent person cry.
Or laugh.
I wonder if Tony and Paul agree about climate change.
