Bugs In The System - On Purpose

It used to be that having bugs in your computing system meant that there were mistakes in its programming — things that didn’t work correctly.

Years later, the computing vocabulary expanded to include worms, which use up networking bandwidth in order to replicate themselves.

Now security experts are starting to use digital ants to help guard computer networks from worms and other forms of malware.

Ants sound like a good idea that will probably do a great job, as long as they don’t use up too many system resources as they work.

But you know it will only be a matter of time until the bad guys develop their own armies of ants.

And that will force the good guys to create digital anteaters….
