Ban On Photographing The Oil Spill

In what I’m sure is going to turn out to be a very controversial move, “…CNN’s Anderson Cooper (has) reported that, from now on, there is a new rule in effect, which de facto bars photographers from coming within 65 feet of any deployed boom or response vessel around Deepwater Horizon… out on the water or on beaches.”
Do you think the ban is reasonable, considering all of the safety issues that surround the efforts to plug that leak? Or do you think the ban is an attempt at censorship that attempts to prevent the media from properly covering that important news story?
