Another Windows Emergency

October 24th, 2008 by ComputerBob

If you’re a Windows user, you should be aware that, “With little warning, Microsoft released yesterday an unscheduled or “out-of-cycle” patch for a highly critical vulnerability that affects all versions of Windows.”

Aren’t you getting a little sick and tired of having to deal with a nearly constant stream of Windows vulnerabilities and emergency updates?

Don’t you wish you could use a free, powerful, friendly and secure operating system that comes with hundreds of free software applications and doesn’t force you to repeatedly spend time and money to ro patch it and add all kinds of third-party software to it in order to feel safe on the Internet?

Regular readers of this Journal know that Linux replaced Windows on my PC back in July, 2006, and that I highly recommend Mepis Linux for new converts from Windows and Debian Linux for experienced Linux users and those who want to learn more about “what’s under the hood.”
