Another Intrusive Update

I suspect that to most of us who use Linux full-time instead of Windows, such behavior seems unthinkable — and possibly even unforgivable.
But I suppose that, maybe because it has happened so many times before, most Windows users have developed a very high tolerance for all of the ways that Microsoft abuses its power over its customers.
Here’s the latest example of that abuse: Recent Windows updates reportedly install an extension in users’ Firefox web browser without the users’ knowledge or permission — an addon that cannot be removed in the normal manner.
