Angelo D’Tangelo - First Fruits

Though he has tried to produce fruit every year for the past four years since I planted him, I removed the fruit buds as soon as I saw them every year, to give him a chance to grow big and strong enough to support all of the added weight on his branches.
This year, Angelo D’Tangelo is big and strong, so I let him make a few tangelos for the first time in his life, as I showed you several months ago. Now that it’s almost time to pick his 14 or 15 full-size honeybell tangelos, I took a new photo of Max with a tangelo. Max looks pretty sleepy, and his tongue is sticking out a little, but the tangelo looks wide awake and ready to start its day, as you can see below.
