A Very Busy Day And Night
April 18th, 2010 by ComputerBob
One of my many hobbies is that I’m a Platinum sponsor — as well as the webmaster, photographer, web host, and all-around promotions guy — for a local charity.
Today is that charity’s biggest annual fundraising event — an all-day motorcycle/automobile poker run. Last year’s poker run netted over $8,000 for the charity.
So I had to wake up early today, to help set everything up.
By the time you read this, I will be running all over the place, photographing the day’s events, as well as its sponsors, events, winners, officers, hundreds of participants, and the very popular local rock band that will be playing for a few hours.
Then, some time in the next few days, I’ll edit, organize and add probably about 300 of my new photographs to the charity’s Web site.
In past years, I’ve stayed up late on the night of the event itself, to publish my photos on the Web site as soon as possible.
But I can’t do that tonight because after the poker run ends, I’ll be helping take down everything that I helped set up this morning. And A few hours later, I’ll start working my very first midnight-to-8:30 AM shift as a Technology Clerk at the local U.S. 2010 Census Office.
So if you send me an email today, you probably won’t hear back from me until some time tomorrow.
After I get some sleep.
