A Gathering Storm? 3
December 10th, 2009 by ComputerBob
Last night, my wife and I were watching TV when the ABC national news finally did a story about last month’s Climategate scandal.
It’s about time.
Journalists who are looking for the truth about a news story are often advised to “follow the money.”
I think that’s good advice that applies just as well to the current Climategate story and its implications for the Global Warming movement as it did to the Watergate story that brought down a U.S. Presidency in the early 1970s.
With that in mind, here are just a few of the many pieces of evidence that, in my opinion, describe a trail of money and power that adds fuel to my growing skepticism:
- An article in the New York Times: Gore’s Dual Role: Advocate and Investor.
- A column in the Australian Herald Sun: Climategate: Gore falsifies the record, and its even-more incendiary follow-up: Gore is grossly careless or a barefaced liar.
- The Science & Public Policy Institute’s 35 Inconvenient Truths: The Errors In Al Gore’s Movie.
- Some blatant evidence of Al Gore’s “carbon footprint” hypocrisy: Glass Houses (confirmed by TruthOrFiction.com and many other sites).
- A column in Real Clear Politics: ClimateGate: The Fix is In.
- An article in Forbes: Cringing Over Climategate.
- Another article in Forbes: The Fiction Of Climate Science.
- An editorial in the Wall Street Journal: Climategate: Science Is Dying.
I personally think that there is already more than enough evidence to suspect that we’ve been lied to about man-made global warming for the past few decades; lies that we’ve been force-fed — and that millions of schoolchildren all over the world have been brainwashed into believing.
Lies and deceptions that our trusted leaders may have created to manipulate our beliefs, in order to benefit their own political aspirations and financial interests.
Hmm.. rich, powerful politicians acting disingenuously in order to fool normal people into giving them even more riches and power…
What are the odds of that ever happening?
This isn’t the scientific community, so I’m not going to tell you what you should believe. You’re free to analyze any evidence that you find credible, draw your own conclusions, and either agree or disagree with me.
But I got to where I am right now by “following the money.”
So I’d like to see some truly objective investigations and debates that attempt to do the same thing, to address my skepticism and concerns, instead of a continuing the unethical, unscientific, one-sided, global-warming group-think and intellectual bullying that the field of climatology has apparently experienced for at least the past couple of decades.
Of course, such investigations and debates will probably never happen.
Because you can’t trust a fox to guard the hen house.
And, apparently, you can’t trust scientists and politicians to guard the truth.

I’m sure that climate is changing … after all, it always has. I’m not convinced that this change is necessarily bad or good: just different from before (well, recent befores). And I’m not at all convinced that we humans are responsible for the change … and I’m not convinced that humans are NOT responsible.

Thanks for creating such a wonderful weblog. Your website was not only informative but also very creative too. There are a limited number of people who can think to write technical stuff that creatively. We look forward to much more !!
