50 Geek Skills

ComputerBob — Making Geek-Speak Chic™. That’s this web site’s title and slogan.
How geeky am I? Geeky enough to have used computers since 1980. Geeky enough to have done tech support in both corporate and higher-education institutions. Geeky enough to have built this web site from scratch on my own for the past 10+ years. Geeky enough to have built the PC that I’m still using about 6 years ago. Geeky enough to have run Linux as my operating system since June, 2006. Geeky enough to have created and taught college computer courses, faculty/staff computer training courses and corporate computer training courses, even though I only ever took 2 college computer courses myself — BASIC and FORTRAN — way back in 1982.
But I’m not too geeky — I have some friends.
How geeky are you? Find out by seeing if you have many of the 50 Skills Every Real Geek Should Have.
But if you’re really geeky, you’ll probably disagree with several of the items on the list.
And if you’re extremely geeky, you’ll probably write to the authors to point out their mistakes to them.
